Since our inception in 1977, Bayless and Associates has been successful in recruiting and hiring top professionals in the mental health field. As a profit-based agency, our reputation and customer service values stand paramount and our employees are dedicated to excellence.
Our therapists who provide direct clinical services are all Board Certified, Licensed Psychologists and Master's Level Practitioners. Case Managers and Family Support Partners have also been trained and certified to provide a wide array of direct services.
Michael B. Bayless, Ph.D.

In 1977, Dr. Michael B. Bayless began providing Forensic psychological services to adult and juvenile probation departments, federal and state court, insurance companies, and private attorneys. Since that time, Dr. Bayless has evaluated and diagnosed over two thousand clients. Additionally, he has testified in both federal and state court for both plaintiff and defense in hundreds of cases.
In 1984 Dr. Bayless created a child and adolescence center specializing in treating at risk children from inner city families. The company, Michael B. Bayless and Associates P.C., has grown to over forty mental health professionals with sub-specialties in treatment and diagnostic services.

Justin M. Bayless
VICE PRESIDENT
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Justin M. Bayless attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia where he obtained a B.A. degree in Accounting and Economics. Justin graduated at the top of his class and received several honorary academic merits such as Phi Beta Kappa, Beta Gamma Sigma, Omicron Delta Kappa, and was recognized by Morehouse College as the top business accounting student.
Justin's academic prowess resulted in him representing the college and speaking on foreign economic policy in such nations as Costa Rica, Chile, Argentina and China.
After Morehouse, Justin continued his career in business with Morgan Stanley as an investment banker in New York City. Justin was a member of the Global Capital Markets group primarily on the Equity Retail, Consumer and Private Placements syndicate desk.
On Wall Street, Justin developed capital market solutions to mitigate strategic, operational, credit, and market risks and subsequently raised over $1.7 billion dollars in equity financing for companies like Einstein Noah, Fresh Del Monte, Burger King, Hanes Brand, Range Fuels, and many more.
At Bayless and Associates, Justin is currently responsible for business development, analysis of financial and program resources, implementing a electronic health record and clinical management system, Bayless Tele-Consultation program as well as all philanthropic and marketing initiatives.

Richard Crislip, LCSW
CLINICAL DIRECTOR
CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER
Mr. Crislip has broad experience working as a child and family therapist and program administrator. Over the past 20 years, Richard has worked in a variety of behavioral health settings, including community-based mental heath agencies, managed care organizations, domestic violence shelters, schools, and a private practice focusing on marital and family counseling.
Richard is bilingual and has spent much of his career working with Hispanic families. He has worked at Bayless and Associates for 9+ years and has served as the Clinical Director for 6 years during which he has developed and implemented a variety of community-based behavioral health programs for children and adults.

Jon H. McCaine, Ph.D.
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

Dr. McCaine has served as the Clinical Director of the Marana Psychological Services, La Frontera Community Mental Health Center, and the state of Arizona’s Department of Juvenile Corrections.
Prior to joining Bayless and Associates, Dr. McCaine served as the Clinical Director of Youth Services International, based in Sarasota, Florida overseeing and developing developmental protocols for a national network of residential and community-based treatment programs addressing violence, sexual behavior, and substance abuse in high risk youth and adults.
Over the past 15 years, Dr. McCaine has provided ongoing consultation and training on effective strategic psycho-educational and cognitive-behavioral intervention methods with high risk youth to federal, tribal and state government organizations. He also continues to provide workshops and lectures to court, mental health and social service organizations on the dynamics of intimate partner abuse and family violence.

Melisa L. Finch, Ph.D.
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Dr. Finch has 10 years of experience in adolescent and adult psychology in various settings, including community mental health agencies, inpatient facilities, residential treatment agencies, correctional facilities, managed care organizations, and private practice. She works with a variety of behavioral health issues, such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma/PTSD, personality disorders, and emotional and behavioral disturbance in adolescents, and specializes in psychodiagnostic evaluations. Dr. Finch also provides consultation to behavioral health agencies with an emphasis on program planning and development, clinical guidance, and training on mental health issues.Â
Prior to joining Bayless and Associates, Dr. Finch served as the Director of Eligibility and Evaluations for Magellan Health Services in which she maintained oversight of eligibility services for the Serious Mentally Ill program in Maricopa County.

Shalene Kirkley Ph.D.
CLINICAL AND FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGIST
Dr. Kirkley completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, with a concentration in Psychology and Law, at the University of Alabama in 2008.
She has provided clinical and forensic services for juvenile and adult offenders in Alabama, New Mexico, and Arizona.
In addition to her forensic work, Dr. Kirkley has extensive assessment experience in neuropsychology.

Marian J. Humphries, M.Ed., M-C, LPC
CHILDREN’S CLINICAL SUPERVISOR/INTERNSHIP COORDINATOR
Ms. Humphries has experience working as a child and family therapist specializing in parent-child relationships, trauma, disruptive behavior disorders and depression. Marian has been at Bayless and Associates for the past 10+ years.
Marian is currently the clinical supervisor for the children's division. She supervises the child and family case managers, Master's level interns, and continues to provide therapy and assessments.

Julie Garcia
CLINICAL LIAISON/DUI & SUBSTANCE ABUSE COORDINATOR
Ms. Garcia joined the Bayless and Associates team in March of 2005. She has over 20 years experience providing substance abuse counseling for adults and juveniles. Julie was a therapeutic foster parent for several years for teenagers. Julie is also an active surrogate parent for a number of children throughout the State of Arizona. She also has an extensive background in developing intensive outpatient and residential programs.
Julie was involved in the initial pilot program implementing the Child and Family Team Model in Arizona. At Bayless and Associates, she specializes in adolescent behavior disorders, independent living skills, and quality management.

Maureen Brish, MSW
ALTCS LIAISON
Mrs. Brish has focused her career as a social worker on the geriatric population in Arizona. Maureen has spent the last eight years as a Director of Social Services in long term care facilities. During this time she worked in rehabilitation and skilled nursing units, as well as memory care and specialty behavior programs. Maureen has experience in assisting older adults that exhibit challenging behaviors related to dementia and mental illness.
Maureen has come to Bayless and Associates to utilize her expertise in the long term care field to assist in the development of comprehensive behavioral health services for this population.

Erika Bell, MC, LAC
THERAPIST/CASE MANAGER
Mrs. Bell has worked at Bayless & Associates since 2006. She is knowledgeable in the area of childhood disorders, school related difficulties, and behavior modification.
She has experience as a teacher and has led social skills groups for adolescents. Her past experience has strengthened her ability to coordinate services with families, school faculty, and other agencies.
Erika currently provides intake assessments, case management, and counseling services for children and families from culturally diverse backgrounds.

Mark Colclough

Mr. Colclough has sixteen years in the behavioral health services field. He has provided a wide variety of services from prevention to rehabilitation. His expertise lies in facilitation, behavior modification, life skills, social skills, leadership and personal development.
At Bayless and Associates, Mark is a part of the intensive case management team where he facilitates the Child and Family Team process, Strength needs and culture discovery, Crisis and Safety planning, and implementation of service plans.

Robert Emerick, M.Ed.
THERAPIST
Since earning his Master’s degree from the University of Arizona in 1982, Mr. Emerick has developed and managed treatment programs for child sexual abuse survivors and perpetrators in the United States and Canada. His clinical/research practice yielded abuse history factors among adolescent and adult sexual abuse survivors that identify children at higher risk to act out sexually.
These factors, known as the Emerick Scales, are embedded in the Abel Assessment for sexual interests. In addition to his clinical/research practice, he teaches child sexual abuse professionals about sex offender investigation, treatment, and supervision. The past five years, he has investigated personal and professional challenges (Silent Injuries) to Child Sexual Abuse professionals and developed curriculum to help professionals reduce vulnerability to potential career related injuries.
He has lectured about Silent Injuries to child sexual abuse professionals at various state, provincial, and national conferences sponsored by organizations such as Abel Screening, California Coalition on Sex Offending, California Sexual Assault Investigator’s Association, International Association of Forensic Nurses, National Children’s Advocacy Center, and the National College of District Attorneys.

Ms. McCue has a wide range of experience working with children, adolescents and families in a variety of settings, including group homes, schools and in-home. Monica specializes in working with children dealing with loss and grief and adjustment issues.
In addition, Monica has experience dealing with various behavior issues that include anger, aggression, defiance and anxiety issues in children, as well as experience dealing with children with special needs.
Monica has worked at Bayless and Associates for over 3 years where she is currently a child and family therapist and child and family team facilitator. She works primarily with children in CPS care and children dealing with developmental delays.

David Sherwood, MC, LPC
THERAPIST
Mr. Sherwood brings a wide range of behavioral health experience to Bayless and Associates as he has worked in the field since 1992, has been providing Master's level therapy since 1995, and has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1998. Mr. Sherwood has worked with the adult Seriously Mentally Ill for 2 years, children and families for 8 years, 2 years working with the adult Methadone population, and 5 years working with the general adult population including rural, Native American cultural issues, couples, and the elderly. All of which have been performed in various settings including office-based, hospital-based, school-based, and home-based.
Mr. Sherwood utilizes a variety of clinical approaches including: Cognitive-Behavioral, Client-Centered, Psychodynamic, Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, and Strength-Based. Each is utilized based upon what is best suited for the given population, and individual case.
Mr. Sherwood also has experience with the licensing of behavioral health programs, clinical supervision of college-level interns, and providing in-service training seminars.
Currently, Mr. Sherwood works with children, families, traumatic brain injury, and the elderly populations.

Suzi U. Wall, MSW, LCSW
CLINICAL THERAPIST AND SOCIAL WORKER
Mrs. Wall is a licensed, clinical therapist and social worker in the State of Arizona. She has been working in these areas since 1985. She has assisted Phoenix Children’s Hospital in developmental pediatrics, program development, and counseling children and families with chronic illness and disabilities.
She has performed school social work for 16 years working with children ranging from infancy through high school and she has also vast experience in the geriatric population.
Her training and expertise includes bereavement, behavioral and emotional issues, family and relationship concerns, crisis management, trauma, parenting, and individual/group work. Mrs. Wall has been a member of Bayless and Associates since April 2004.

Matthew Wattay, MC, NCC, LPC
CHILD AND FAMILY THERAPIST
As an experienced Child and Family Therapist, Mr. Wattay focuses on parent-child relationships, disruptive behavior disorders, anxiety and depression disorders, trauma issues, and other systemic issues that affect family functioning. In addition, Matt is sensitive to and places great importance on the different cultural backgrounds of the individuals and families he works with.
Matt has adopted a theoretical framework that includes a family systems and cognitive-behavioral orientation. More specifically, Matt sees himself as a facilitator when focusing on promoting change in family interaction styles, as well as changes in their, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In addition, child development education is a top priority that is interwoven throughout his therapeutic approach. Finally, but most important, Matt’s number one aim when working with children and their families is to implement the key counseling characteristics of warmth, empathy, respect, and genuineness.
Matt has been with Michael B. Bayless and Associates since April 2005. Prior to this, he had 7 years of experience as an Employment Recruiter helping individuals with their job search and placement. This career greatly prepared Matt in his role as a Therapist in terms of helping individuals make significant life transitions.

Maria Willis

Ms. Willis has over twenty five years experience working with children. She has over one hundred eighty hours training from the State of Arizona and the State of Illinois, on children with disruptive behavior, depression, grief, trauma issues and life skills for families.
She has been at Bayless and Associates for five years and is part of intensive case team.

Christina Wolfe, MC
ALTCS and CHILDREN THERAPIST
Ms. Wolfe attended Grand Canyon University and received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology in 2006. She worked with the Healthy Families program doing in-home support service and activities with mothers and their infants. Christina graduated with a Masters degree in counseling from Arizona State University and has been working at Bayless and Associates since 2008.

Ben Woodruff, MSW
THERAPIST
Working primarily with children and families, Mr. Woodruff focuses on issues of anxiety, depression, parent-child relationships, disruptive disorders, trauma, anger, and other problems that affect the well being of children and adolescents. Ben practices from a family systems framework and focuses on helping his clients find wholeness in their physical, emotional, spiritual, relational, and educational lives. Ben seeks to work with children and adolescents in a way that is empathetic, empowering, and fun.
Ben has been working at Michael B. Bayless and Associates since 2009. Prior to his work here, he was a Pastor and worked with adolescents and college students in a variety of settings. In his ministry he focused on spiritual inspiration, counseling, community collaboration, and social justice projects with local children in need as well as work in Africa with orphaned youth.
